I provide the full scope of dental braces to treat problems of the teeth, face and jaws. Braces can be worn on the outside surfaces of the teeth (conventional fixed braces) or the inside of the teeth (lingual braces) or be removable (the Invisalign technique). Working with a team of maxillofacial surgeons, I also correct the facial deformity of patients who have a facial asymmetry or imbalance in the size of their jaws. I enjoy treating both children and adults, and am especially delighted when a satisfied parent is inspired to have orthodontic treatment when they see their child’s fantastic smile!

I combine specialist private practice in Central London with an NHS Consultant position at Watford General Hospital.

Expertise

I have been working as an orthodontist exclusively since 1993 and so have a great deal of experience of working with both children and adults to create beautiful smiles.

As a Consultant Orthodontist, I treat many patients who need jaw surgery to correct an underlying jaw deformity, as well as orthodontics to correct their malocclusion.  I am also involved in training dentists to become specialist orthodontists.

Experience

I graduated with Honours in Dentistry from Newcastle Dental School in 1989. I was selected for one of the prestigious House Officer posts and worked for a further year in Newcastle, before moving to the West Country. At Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and then the Royal United Hospital, Bath, I worked as a Senior House Officer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, performing minor dental operations, such as wisdom tooth removal, and assisting with more major surgery, such as jaw fractures and facial cancer. After this I worked in general dental practice before being chosen to take a Masters Degree in Orthodontics at the University of Bristol. On completion, I became a Senior Registrar at the Eastman Dental Hospital, in Central London, and was appointed to a Consultant position in 2004.
